Just FYI for people looking for Zeaska mod, it's private and you need to pay money to get it.

Also the Nyaacho preset black crushes the hell out of cubemaps.

Beware.

Yeah, the armor is an exclusive. Alternatively you can check other Casca cards for alternate outfits. I couldn't help myself from using this one.

I forgot to link the skintexmod:

@Star_Rain: I've got no clue what you mean about any cubemap issues. Here's a quick check I did with default settings (top image) versus Nyaacho settings (bottom image):

The map's cubemap reflection on that sphere look the exact same to me. Haven't noticed anything weird on transparent objects either, maybe you tried an old preset? Dunno.

Uh, maybe I described it wrong, it's just certain cubemaps are the worst offenders due to already being dark.
The preset actually black crushes everything for me.
Here is the title screen and sample LRE character in Muir Woods cubemap, Normal above and Nyaacho below: https://imgur.com/a/Hv5y1

You must've been thinking of something else then (no idea what though).

The preset will darken your game for sure compared to LRE default and should bring you closer to the vanilla color settings, but not nearly as dark as your screenshots. Something else must be at play but I can't guess for you as to what it is.
I've seen other screenshots of people using it and it looks like mine so I assume my setup should be an ok-ish representation. I will be using it for some of the next cards and scenes I'll post so you will have more chances to see how it looks like for me if you're curious.

Anyways, as mentioned in the readme.txt, backup those files first just in case. But it'd be kind of you not to jump the gun and plaster warning signs over other people's work so haphazardly. D;

I was under the impression that the point of LRE was to get away from the Dreamcast colors, and i most definitely did backup my settings as per the readme. I do use heavy contrast on my monitor by default so that's probably the issue.

to bad the armor mod were a premium one, cant blame the author tho since its his/her work.
i can tell how much effort to make it because its not just a simple re-texture...
still, great card selene =)

As far as I'm aware what Linear Rendering does is calculate lighting (shadows, depth n shet) in a way that produces more natural results, it's not about getting away from Dreamcast colors (whatever this means).
This is just my assumption, but the default colors of LRE are likely plasticmind's preference towards what gets him good results for displaying somewhat realistic skin, since it's what most of his screenshots focus on. It should be easy to see that most of the characters I make require vibrant colors, specifically for the hair and clothing, hence why I only made the jump to LRE with this preset. Either way I must say LRE makes a considerable difference.

And thanks linua. o/
