Thats a bit tricky, you CAN use it of course, though it rearranges/ deletes some mods (as far as I'm aware).

You can try backing up mods you like and save over after you apply the patch but there's the possibility of things breaking.

Whenever I want to update, I apply the patch, then I re-download FBZ (you can obviously do this in the opposite order if you want).

Afterwards I use the new download as a base and copy over the files with the patch applied (without overwriting the files).

Then I replace the old koikatu folder with the new one.

It's worked for me so far but there's still a risk of things breaking so I'd suggest backing things up.
