Scenario: Amy can't afford this week's rent

Amy: "Mr. Tanaka, I'm so sorry, I don't have enough money to pay this week's rent. My mom was hit by a car last week, and I've been paying for her medical costs, so I've spent almost all of the money I've earned this week on her..."

Landlord: "Amy, I'm very sorry to hear about your mother's accident, but you must understand, I'm running a business here, and my tenants need to pay their rent every week or get evicted."

Amy: "Please Mr. Tanaka! I'll have the money soon! I just need a bit more time..."

Landlord: "No, I don't care for your excuses, you need to pay your rent right now or you can start packing your bags. I have plenty of other people waiting for the chance to move into this apartment who can afford to pay their rent every week without fail."

Amy: Sir... please... *sniff*

Landlor: However... I think we can come to some kind of agreement. Why don't you turn around and bend over onto this table and take your panties off?

Amy: "What?! Mr. Tanaka! What are you saying?!"

Landlord: "Amy, do you want to remain in this lovely apartment? If so, do what I tell you. Turn around and take off your panties."

Amy: "But... I... ok... oh my god, my mom is gonna be disappointed in me..." *sniff*

Landlord: "Relax Amy, nobody needs to know about this, just hold still for a few minutes and I'll forget all about this week's rent."

Would anyone be surprised if Lucy heartfilia did the same thing towards the landlady's husband then hiding it from everyone and that's why got rent-free until the timeskip happened?
