Apparently VA-11 HALL-A had a GFL event? That's pretty neat. Never played GFL, so I'm kind of curious how the fuck a bar tending simulator could work with a gacha game about anthromorphic guns.
Oh, if you don't know what VA-11 HALL-A is, it's a cyberpunk visual novel about a bartender named Jill. Well okay, it's also the name of the bar that Jill works at. It's very down to earth in that while yes some crazy stuff does happen, it's not a action adventure noir kind of story. It's just about working in a bar and meeting all sorts of interesting characters. If you're tired of your cyberpunk protags going on long monologues about the human condition, then I'd highly recommend VA-11 HALL-A. Sometimes you don't want to be caught up in some massive conspiracy perptrated by some megacorps, sometimes you just want to kick back n' relax and enjoy a cyberpunk universe. Sure, there's not much gameplay (If you're bad at remembering things that happened 5 seconds ago this would be a very tough experience for you.) but the story's good and it's pretty cheap too. If you got the dough, why not swing on by and have a drink at VA-11 HALL-A?
Anyways, Alma's Jill friend who's a hacker. She's supposed to have robot hands (Helps her type faster + Can't get arthritis if you don't have hands.) but the cyborg limbs mod isn't that great/I forgot to give her mecha gloves. Mea culpa. I was really looking forward to making Dana because she's Jill's boss and she's fucking cool. Chill n' lax, she's quite accommodating too. Oh and she used to be a part of an underground fighting circuit.
Wait who were we talking about again? Oh right, Alma. Yeah she's okay I guess. She's a somewhat fairly realistic hacker in that she's not yelling "HACKED THE PLANET!" and talks about how mundane hacking actually is. I think she might be bi as well. Iunno, it's been a while I've played that game. Gods Dana is so cool.
Oh right, this is an edit of an Alma card on the discord. Well, I say edit but it's the whole Ship of Theseus scenario in that pretty much none of the original card exists anymore other than the name. She's known as the Titty Hacker, not the Really Wide Hips Hacker. Then again, after my misadventures in proportions, I ain't got the right to be casting stones here.

I play GFL and the VA-11 Hall-A event was pretty cool. In between normal GFL style stages you had to do segments where you pretty much just played an unfailable version of VA-11 Hall-A as Jill and served drinks to the gun girls. You also get some VA-11 Hall-A characters you can put on your teams and they all have alternate costumes. My favorite is Sei's which has her cosplay as Stella.

What do you mean by "unfailable"? Is it an automatic sequence, or can you mess up drinks as much as you want and not get penalized for it? Are there any special dialogue you get for messing orders up or spiking non alcoholic drinks like in the original game?
Aww, I like that detail of Sei having's Stella's outfit. That's pretty sweet.
I know they're working on Nirvana, but I hope they'll make a sequel to VA-11 HALL-A one day.

There's actually a fair amount of VA-11 HALL-A cards here and elsewhere. For example, Witchanon on pixiv has Kira Miki and Dorothy. There's also a number of Jills floating around and on Kenzaato, there's a Stella card there. I'm not sure about Sei and I don't think I ever seen a Dana card around so if you wanted those two, well you're plum out of luck.

You can mess up the drinks but you're not able to serve the drink unless it's the right one. You still have to look up the recipes. it's functionally the same gameplay as VA-11 Hall-A but you're just not allowed to fuck up even if you want to. Of course you can still load Karmotrine into a Karmotrine Optional drink even if the order asks for none, so that's always fun.
Also Dana knocks out a boss with a baguette and Stella has a costume that's her in Sei's armor. Oh, and Jill's extra costume is a Model Warrior cosplay.
They also used music from VA-11 Hall-A for the normal stages and bartending sequences, with a few being remixed by GFL's composers. The remix of Digital Drive is particularly good.
It was a very fun event and I'm still leveling up Jill, Alma, Dana, Sei, Stella, and Anna so I can use them in battle. The only character I didn't manage to get was Dorothy.

Ah I see. Is the event a permanent quest or a temporary one? Because I might give GFL a whirl just for that event alone.

Unfortunately the event ended in August, and even for the people like myself who completed it, there's no way to play it anymore. It's really too bad, cause I really liked this event and Operation Rabbit Hunt (A Guilty Gear/Blazblue crossover from last year), but I can't do the missions anymore.
